Pieces Gymboree

With numerous retailers carrying children’s wear and many more entering the market every year, the selection is endless. Children’s tops and bottoms are normally sized numerically. The significance of the size is that it is the suggested age of the average wearer. For instance, a size 5 is the suggested size for an average five year old. Bottoms may come in regular, slim (often abbreviated as “S”) and plus/husky (often abbreviated as “P” or “H”) fits.
A word or abbreviation describing fit comes after a numerical size. If nothing appears after a numerical size, it is safe to assume that the piece is a regular fit. Regular fits are meant for children of average build. On the other hand, slim fits are meant for slim children and plus/husky fits are meant for children on the chubbier side. For instance, a size 12S is meant for a slim twelve year old of average height; a size 7H is meant for a seven year old of average height who is on the chubbier side.
Due to children being built differently from another and sizing inconsistencies between different retailers, it is wise for children to try different fits and/or sizes instead of solely using age as a guide for sizing. The shopping venues to be considered highly depend on clothing preferences and budget.
Targeting middle class families, Gymboree is one of the market leaders specializing in coordinating and matching head to toe pieces for children up to twelve years of age. The premium-priced Abercrombie kids brand target slim to average sized eight to sixteen year olds who are interested in looking casual and cool. Justice targets trendy seven through fourteen year old girls who are/whose parents are somewhat price conscious. Brands such as Crazy 8 and The Children’s Place cater to those who are on a limited children’s clothing budget.
Thrift stores, consignment stores and eBay are venues to consider when looking for vintage, older, cheaper or second hand children’s clothing. In addition, there are many sellers on eBay and Etsy that offer unique, custom made children’s clothing.
To get the best deals on children’s clothing, sign up to receive coupons from children’s clothing retailers via snail mail and e-mail. Buying children’s clothing at the end of each season and using them for the next season saves buyers a lot of money as retailers often offer deep markdowns to get rid of leftovers. If purchasing for the next season, sizing up is highly recommended.
